Top speed of 8mph After battery install
So I installed new batteries in my cart and after I am only going 8mph max. Is it possible that the speed code changed ? I did the check for the speed sensor and the cart doesn't seem to brake while pushing it and the alarm only sounds sometimes. Just seems strange that it was fine befor the battery change but now won't get out of its own way.

First thing to do is go back and re check everything you changed. You may have knocked a wire loose or hooked something wrong. 9 times out of 10 you will find your problem this way.

Did you put the cart in tow before you changed the batteries?

If the cart doesn't brake when you push it then it's most likely the speed sensor.

Re: Top speed of 8mph After battery install
Tugging on the battery cables may have pulled the speed sensor connection loose. The pos cable may be routed around the wiring.

Re: Top speed of 8mph After battery install
Well I think I found the problem. I pulled the speed sensor of the motor today and found the magnet has a hairline crack in it. I guessing this is definitely the problem. At least I hope so. And yes I did put the cart in tow before changing the batteries and I've also rechecked every connection on the cart just in case.

Nope not the problem unless the magnet is missing, is it the ge motor if so maybe 30% of them show a slight crack.
