Re: New battery cables revisited....
Just checked.............. there is ZERO chance of the wire that came with the set going through there. I can only "assume" this explains why I am one short. They don't expect you to change that one... Nice they tell you that.....
Leaving the stock one there w/b a weak link IMHO..... |

Re: New battery cables revisited....
These are the cable lengths I used for my 2010 Precedent:
Cables Between Batteries: (2) at 17 inches (2) at 14 Inches (1) at 10 inches Pack Negative thru OBC Stud (2) at 14 inches Pack Positive to Solenoid/Controller (1) at 34 inches (1) at 14 inches Motor Cables (2) at 34 inches These were the cable cut lengths before installing the lugs, it adds up to 18ft of cable. |

Re: New battery cables revisited....
I bought these.
https://www.eastcoastcarts.com/catal...s/1245CCP2.htm It does say ALL the cables. Not the case as I found out....... At their suggestion, I purchased them off eBay from them. I had to specify 6 ea 8v batteries.. I guess I never expected what I ran into...... |

Re: New battery cables revisited....
This is what they are talking about going through the obc. At one time I thought the 2 ga from Scott Gross welding would go through the obc. Turns out I was wrong. image.jpg

Re: New battery cables revisited....
Just contact ScottyB and get him to sell you a proper OBC bolt. I had my doubts but it turned out that it was a good deal and I never worried anymore. Works like a charm!!

Re: New battery cables revisited....
Being my cart was down, I went to Lowes, bought a 5/16 brass bolt, nuts, washers, rubber fender washers, steel fender washers,,, and several cable lugs..
After assembling the unit to go thru the OBC, I cut to length, soldered ends and assembled the cables I could until I ran out of cable. I had to use 2 stock wires in place of one 2 ga as a temporary fix. After assembly, the cart of course would not run.. Go figure. I then went to the OBC reset instructions.. Though mine didn't do the buzz in reverse, after 3 attempt's, it all worked. Took it for a ride and it's on the charger now.. Thanks to all for the assist!! So much for custom fit...... Nightmare is over for now!! |
