You can rent a U-Haul motorcycle hauler for about $15/day. It has a built-in ramp.

About 5 years ago I bought my 5X8 flatbed from Lowes. Put a 2X6 floor in it and couldn't be happier. Not sure what I did without it!

Thank you to everyone who replied. We're looking for something to use a few times a year so renting is out of the question. To get it home after we purchased it we rented from Home Depot at $15 a day. That ain't too shabby but over the long weekends it adds up. We're looking to take the cart camping (Disney / Ft. Wilderness), over to see friends out in the woods, etc., etc. so I need a permanent solution

We're kind of in a pinch b/c we don't have space in the garage. I've read in the past that quite a few folks do well with these and run around 60mph but I really don't want to destroy my cart in the process... I'm open to other suggestions if anyone knows of a heavier folder type. I'm going to look into the heavier/upgraded bearing idea as well.

My brother in law has an F-150 but I think it's a 5 1/2ft box and I'm worried about breaking the tailgate loading the thing (hence part of the question about cart weight).

Last, but not least, I think my cart is actually a villager 4 model b/c the serial starts with a "T." I purchased it thinking it was a DS but after a little review, I believe it is a villager model. Not sure if that makes a difference in weight v.s. a DS.

Have you gave any thought to renting a storage unit to keep the trailer when not in use? Or maybe have a friend you could share the trailer with.

I used to carry my TXT EZ in a 2001 F150 crew which had the short bed. Barely fit but it did. As for the gate. I just took it off when hauling the cart because I was usually dragging a camper behind me and the gate will not clear the propane bottles..

The storage unit isn't really an option for us unfortunately. We're looking to take it on vacations so friends and family can run around on it.

Is it a pain in the neck to remove? I think he has a back up camera on the tailgate.
