Re: Project Sneaky
Further build pics. Fabrication holders for all the new parts. 500 amp flight systems controller, HD solenoid and throttle system. Let me know what you think. Hooked up the meter to the throttle and getting a reading of 0-4.99 ohms, could break in a little and give me exact 5K. Could someone post someone post some pics of their HD FNR switch wiring and what gauge they ran to the switch. I have all sizes available, using 2 gage where possible. I would seem hard to use it on the switch. Thanks.

Re: Project Sneaky
Hey sneaky the build is coming along great. Here is a picture of my HD F&R switch. I have 2 gauge cable connected to it. You just have to use connectors with smaller holes to accomadate the size on the F&R switch. I also had to file the plastic housing a little on the back where cables go between the switch housing and where it mounts to the cart. It was not difficult at all. I bought the cables from Scottyb with the correct terminals on them allready.

Re: Project Sneaky
Jedotx, your F & R switch looks different than mine. Thanks for the picture. It helps.

Re: Project Sneaky
If you have not already done so you will need to upgrade to an HD 48 volt F&R switch. Stock will not handle the amperage you will be running when you get done upgrading. The one in my picture is a pretty standard one it looked just like the stock one I took off just with beefed up bus bars.

Re: Project Sneaky
I got the HD one from Scottyb. It was different from the one I had because of the buss bar connecting the two bottom post. It confused me, but it will wire it like the diagram he sent.
I am at the point now of wiring the key switch. The charger plug has a large bubble fuse connected to the charger plug. Where else should there be fuses. In the diagram i have doesn't show any. Thanks! Last edited by Sneaky; 06-29-2011 at 11:56 AM.. Reason: add picture |

Re: Project Sneaky
Well after help from the BGW site and its members the Project Sneaky came alive last night. Made the final connections and rechecked everything was tight. Turned the switch to on, moved the handle to F, pressed slowly on the pedal, the solenoid clicked, and the cart moved forward. The beast came alive. Can't believe it worked the first time! Now it is time to upgrade the seat covers and body work to finish the Sneaky electric ride!
