Batteries always we on top
I have a clubcar DS. 2 of my 4 batteries are always wet on top. I have disonected all of the cables, cleaned the batteries, checked the water level and just sitting there it always seems to vent acid/water out of the top. Please help it is making a mess out of the frame and my garage floor. Thanks

It is possible the batteries are over filled.

Re: Batteries always we on top
check the vent caps. they could be clogged or have flashing left over from manufacturing. they could also just be a piss-poor design. are the batteries overfilled?
could also try aftermarket vent caps. ie: flowsystems |

No, I just went out and double checked, they are all about 1/2" above the plates. They dont seem to leek out until i put the caps on. Also when i have all of the batteries hooked up I can hear them bouble.

bubbling without charging or when charger hooked up ?
I would swap caps with a battery that is not wet or leaking and see if anything changes if the other one is getting wet then caps are bad, if nothing changes then there may be a leak at the top of the batteries |

Re: Batteries always we on top
1/2 inch above plates is a bit much 1/4 inch or 1/8 of an inch......get a turkey baster and take some water out and see if that cures it.......just don,t use the turkey baster this thanksgiving...............lol..............

Re: Batteries always we on top
Thanks, I went out and took the caps off and put them in some strong outdoor bleach, i will let them soak for a couple of hours and then will rinse them good. I am a little confused about the 1/4" above the plates, I use to work for Interstate Batteries and I was told to fill them up after a good charge to the bottom of the fill hole.

Re: Batteries always we on top
That's okay for a manlift but, an off road cart might need a little more leeway. As long as the plates are covered you have enough water. Of course if they are all filled to the same level and only two leak I would try the cap swap test
