Re: PakTrakr battery monitor
hmm, that looks like a nice lil chip! i guess you would need 3 of them?? hook it up to batteries and see if it lets the smoke out!
i have a mcp3002 here i was planning on trying as a SOC ADC. i got it because of the differential inputs. i've been using atmel µCs w/o lower vref setting capability and have had a difficult time configuring/tuning a rail to rail opamp for differential inputs. if i would just switch to PIC i wouldn't have this problem as the lower vref can be set in software. that 16bit delta-sigma would also solve my lower vref dilemma; just throw more bits at the problem! -sj |

Re: PakTrakr battery monitor
Yea you can always through more bits at it but then you have to do the math !!!
I am currently reading the voltage out of my carts curtis controller what could be better than that. using the programming port!! next step is sensor data, motor current on and on. |

Re: PakTrakr battery monitor
reworking the math is a lot easier than tuning analog!
thats cool! does the curtis output current as well? can you keep the connection alive while operating the controller? are you parsing the data to a laptop? lcd? 7 seg? a in-dash on-the-fly programmer/monitor would be sweet! -sj |

Re: PakTrakr battery monitor
Okay slow down big boy!!! I haven't gotten that far yet! but my answer is yes . at this time I'm using a basic stamp for prototype then I will port it to a pic chip using a 2 or 4 line lcd if I really want to get fancy I will use a graphic lcd.
I haven't had a lot of time to work on it the last week for some reason the wife wants her 30,000 dollar car in the garage and not my cart well I guess you see who wears the pants in my family. |
