Default 36Volt club car melts 1st positive post

Hi, I have an older 36Volt Club Car and it has melted the positive post that is connected to the switch,I got it home by using a small battery clip,by the time i got it home the clip was smoking hot and one of the resister coils was glowing red does anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong it was running good until this... Thanks

i take it this is a 5 soleniod cart? it could have been the cable was loose and or dirty thats why it melted.....most of the time when a cable end melts its because it came loose or it was really dirty as for the resistor was it the 1st resistor? they get red hot thats what they are supposed to do when your driving slow but if was still red hot while cart was just sitting there its possible you have a soleniod stuck closed and staying energized.......that may be what happened to cable also..............oh and welcome to BGW.....................
