Removing Precedent Axle
Hey guys,
I'm looking to install longer lug studs and I'm wondering how hard it is to remove the rear axles?... Has anyone had any experience doing this? What holds the axle in.. a C-Clip? Right now the existing stud is short about 1/8.. I would like the stud to be at least flush with the top of the nut. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks |

Re: Removing Precedent Axle
Just looked at a 2007 Precedent rear axle parts list and it does not show any clip to hold the axle in, strange.

Re: Removing Precedent Axle
There is a snap ring behind the hub, it is kinda hard to get to. You just need some patience and a good pair of snap ring pliers.

Re: Removing Precedent Axle
that would make more sense a clip on the axle and not in the rear end...............would make it a lot easier also...............................

Re: Removing Precedent Axle
No bolts to take off, after you remove the wheel the brake drum will come off. There are holes in the hub that you can look through to see what you are doing. I used a pair of 90 degree snap ring pliers to remove the ring. After you get the ring out the axle will slide out.
