Motor surge

It seems that the motor is leaning out as you open the throttle. With just a little bit of throttle it runs fine. then when you open it on up the motor will shut down for a second and then start back up over and over. At times there is a pop associated with it. New carb and fuel pump didn't fix it. Gonna disconnect the exhaust tomorrow in case there is a muffler restriction. Would a coil be intermittent like that? Any ideas?

New carb fixed it after several adjustments.
