Default Went through new cart. couple questions on batts and stuff

Ok guys. I went through the cart for hours front to rear and top to bottom.

Everything seems to be great, but have a couple things I wanted to ask about.

1 - I noticed that the way the spindles mount to the front frame, there is some play up and down. I would expect there would be some but is there some kind of spec on it?. The driver side has about .040 more up and down movement than the passenger side. Both are torqued to specs.

2 - I plan on taking all the batts out and cleaning the frame real good after I get my new cables. There doesn't seem to be a lot of corrosion so I was happy about that. What is the best thing to get back on the frame for protection? I have a can of truck bed spray I used on something else, would that be good? undercoating? or just regular black paint?

3 - I charged the Batts last night for the first time. I don't know if this is the absolute best way to check but here is what I got. About 30-45 minutes after the charger shut off I measured everything.

Total = 38.2 volts 1=6.34 2=6.39 3=6.38 4=6.38 5=6.35 6=6.33

The next morning after it sat in the could garage (about 35degrees) all night.

Total = 36.9 volts 1=6.25 2=6.15 3=6.19 4=6.17 5=6.18 6=6.18

SO does this data tell me anything?

again guys, I appreciate all the help. I am sure you all have repeated stuff for me that has been said many times.

Thanks
Ron

I stated on the other post that I "treated" my battery tray with undercoating, but I failed to mention the process.

I wire brushed the frame good to remover any rust,
I then sprayed it down with a rust converter and allowed that to dry before giving it 2 coats of the undercoating.

I chose the rubber undercoating over the bed-liner material just because of the "rubber" part, felt like it would resist any acid or corrosion better while providing some cushion for the batteries. I sell both and could have gotten either at a product sample price, so cost wasn't a issue.

Truckbed liner spray is great for the trays

Batteries will need replaced first. Maybe not right now, but very soon. Budget for this when you start making your wish list...

If you want a product that is made specifically for battery trays Google "Randolph battery box paint". It is not expensive.

Ok guys, didn't want to start another thread so I figured I would post a couple update pics. Got rid of all the gold pin stripes, painted the gray wheels, cleaned it up bigtime, added some stripes on the hood and some new pin stripe down the side. Doesn't look to bad. Going to throw some wheel covers on it and maybe recover the seat and that is all she is getting for now. New batts before racing picks up again.
