1986 columbia

i have a 1986 columbia 4 wheel cart would i get more power out of the engine it i install a expansion pipe and muffler from a snowmobile instead of the round muffler that it comes with i replaced original muffler with a new one for a 82 harley cart but it seem to have less power than before
