Hi, just converted from 6-8volt trojans to 4 12 volt lithiums, and want to know which 12 volt battery does the negative harness lead attach?

hondo434, your probably not gonna get a lot of response on this...

- can u bring the 4 12v back ? I ask and so will others because charging those without a BMS will eventually result in the batteries not being in sync... and lead to other issues.

- if you do have a BMS then you will want to buy a 48v to 12v converter for your 12v needs. This will prevent you from draining 1 of the 4 batteries more than the others, which will lead to charging issues :)

To answer your question > 4/12v batteries make 48 volts when connected in series. To connect in series start with battery #1 and connect the negative to the positive of battery #2. Connect #2 negative to #3positive and so on until all the batteries are connected leaving only the #1 positive and #4 negative open. These 2 are the main + and -. Between these 2 you should measure 48v and the answer to your Q is Battery #4

The 12v positive is a 10 gauge blue wire. It would have been connected to one of the batteries w/o a reducer.

Default Re: converting from 6 8 volt batteries to 4 12 volt lithium batteries,

Presently I have 4 Digi-marker 100 ah lifpo4 with 10 amp Chinese on board smart charger for two years and have worked well. I installed a 110 volt receptacle on outside , so I can plug in without holding up seat. You have to be careful when ordering these to get battery measurements, some will fit in 6 & 8 volt slots and some will not. Some will fit factory 12 volt batteries carts. Lost 300 # of weight. Don't go faster because of governor , but feels snappier. Definitely put reducer and fuse box. I convert carts so I change batteries around. Have purchased a single 48 volt battery and two 24 volt batteries to combine. Just have to make sure you can install in series and parallel . single and twin batteries you may need to build a platform to install. Another thing, I see you have upgrade motor, You have to get batteries with higher amp BMS to handle a 4000-6000 watt motor . I also use Ecoworthy 100 AH batteries, they have USA whare house and can deliver 7-10 days.
