Default Year of Trojans

Hello All,

While reading a different thread on this forum, I've increased my knowledge yet again! Now armed with this new info, I ran out and checked the negitive posts of my trojans batteries to see how old they are. I just purchased a '93 CC and the dates are C5. Is there any chance they could be 1995 instead of 2005?
thanks!

Positive Terminal = Manufacturing Date.
This code indicates the actual date when the battery was built. At this point, electrolyte has not been added to the battery and charging has not taken place.
LETTER stands for the month and could be anything from A to L (A=January, B=February, C=March, and so on),; NUMBER stands for the date.

Negative Terminal = Shipping Date.
This code indicates the month and year when the battery was shipped out of the factory. LETTER stands for the month. NUMBER is the last digit of the year.

So Yes, your batteries could possibly be over 10 years old but it's unlikely. Either March of 95 or March of 05.

I'm going with the 2005's and abused....inside each cell, setting up on top of the plates, is a gray'ish "mud". The water is above the plates but they may have just filled it. The charger starts at 15amp but shuts off in about 3 hours. If I can get them charged, I'll check for dead cells.
