Cool 92 E-Z-GO 2 cycle 3pg

HI,
New to this forum and need some help. Semi mechanically inclined however never wrenched on a cart before and am having trouble removing the starter generator pivot bolt. have removed necessary retaining bolt and lock washers and tried both twisting the bolt in case it is threaded in and tapping with a hammer however the bolt will not budge to enable me to remove the starter generator from the cart.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try some Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster.

If it helps...I had to remove my engine and CUT the bolt out of mine!! It was sooo rusted in there it wouldn't even turn with an impact wrench.
Try soaking it in wd-40 for a day or 2 then put the big breaker bar to it and put on your helmet!! A little heat from a torch never hurt anything either!! If all else fails....you wont be the 1st guy to have to cut it out!!

I could agree, but heat expands metal. Get lucky when it cools maybe? If you chose to cut it out, put a grove in the broken bolts center, and unscrew the remains. The liquid will work. Just as it moves a bit, spray it again and move to another project as it penetrates. If all don't work, bring out the"BFH".:0

Heat expands metal....that's right!! So heat up the metal that is around the bolt and give it hell!! Just be careful not to burn yourself or your cart up in the process.
