EZ Go electric

I have fairly new batteries that reads 36.47 volts but cart won't move. Solenoid clicks when pressing petal. Could the resistor be the problem?

36v the batteries are "dead" and need charged. That's the first thing I would do asap. Everyday the batteries sit discharged you are shortening their life.

When I placed the batteries on charge, after a hour or so the cells start boiling and the cart charger shows that they are not charge. Could it be that they're no good after 15 months.

batteries do boil and it takes hours to charge ..like 16 hours

Sounds like you might have more than one problem, but need to know what type drive system cart has to diagnose.

Is it a resistor drive, series drive or sepex drive?

As for the batteries "boiling" it's gassing rather than boiling and it's normal.

The batteries ought to be recharged after each use and if cart sits for extended lengths of time, the batteries ought to be given a booster charge every few weeks.

With a 36.45V starting point, it will take many hours for the batteries to charge and they will gas a lot.
