I saw the fan. I have one on my cart. My golfing buddies are trying to get me to put a cooler on the roof for ice, and run a drip hose to the fan to mist the air.

If You mount a 12v power port on the dash, would it not make more sense to ditch the battery charger quick connect on the back and add a cigarette lighter type plug to the charger?

Charging the cart from the dash instead of a plug on the back of the cart not only would be more convenient, but would also make more difficult to drive off while the aux battery was still charging.

If you aren't going with a massive high amperage charger I would recommend simplifying your schematic and using the 12v socket to also charge the battery. Simply wire in a 12v socket plug to your charger.

Crap I just saw this. Sorry for the posting the same thing as he did ...but good advice

On a side note, I had an extra 12v trailer-brake battery laying around that I have been keeping charged up, so last month we put it in my dads cart. Granted he is only running lights off of it, but it has worked out awesome and has never run out of juice. What I love about it is its a totally sealed lead-acid battery so there is zero maintenance and its very small footprint - its only about 3-1/2" wide by 2-3/4" long (Can hold in the palm of one hand)! So finding a place for it and securing it was not an issue. Its just a thought. but if you haven't commited to one of those big batteries yet these can be had for only $15 locally! So its worth trying out first just to see if its enough juice to meet your needs.
