I tortured my batteries for 8 years. Two holes below acid level and burnt battery posts with stud replacements. I used JB Waterweld and it held fine. It said on the package [among other things] to use it on batteries. I was a happy camper or should I say Happy Carter.

I checked the water in all the cells yesterday and the repaired hole was no lower than the rest!

I always get 10 years out of batteries. I suppose weekend only use for 7 - 8 months a year buys batteries some time.

Also depends on your performance requirements and how far you normally go between charges. If you only run your cart 5 miles or so sure 7 year old batteries will work.

Only if you keep them charged when you are not using them!

Well just to update, the repair failed about a month ago and the cell leaked down again. But 2 of the other battery's in that set of T105's were starting to act up so they got pulled and got the epsom salt treatment 6 others did the other day. The battery with a hole still holds over 5.5 under load .
