Default 1999 Club Car DS gas governor

Where exactly is the governor and how do I adjust it? I want to slow down the cart. It appears that the rpm limiter is kicking in because it is going too fast.

simple .add slack to the spring. The governor is way back on the top of the gearbox.tight spring, fast rpms, loose spring, slow rpms. easy when backing off the spring tension,a little goes a long way

This would get you back to an original setting. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...n-1998-cc.html

The adjustment is on top of your rear end.

Loosen the nut on the governor arm. You'll need a 7/16" wrench. Once it's loosened, you can turn the governor shaft. Push the governor arm to it's full extent towards the back of the cart and hold it with your hand. This will open the carburetor butterfly completely. While holding the arm, turn the governor shaft counter clockwise until you can't turn it any further. Re-tighten the nut and release the governor arm. If the governor still isn't working after you do this, something is either wrong internally or you have way too much tension on the accelerator cable. It can be adjusted within the electrical box under the seat. There are two jam nuts and a little more than an inch of adjustment on the cable end. The more cable you put into the box, the less tension you'll have on the cable. Move it in small increments until you get the results you want. Regarding my previous post on another thread about your clutch, if the clutch is bad you'll need to replace your clutch before making any adjustments to your cable or else you're going to have to do it again after you change the clutch.
