Amazing what a few rattle cans can do
Since I got rid of the incredible noise from my 2001 Fairway Villager Club Car by replacing the driven clutch (see my other recent post), and speeding it up via an improvised zip-tie mod, I had to spiff it up with a new paint job. After thoroughly cleaning it, I masked it off and sprayed it with 2 cans (? 4 coats) of Krylon shiny dark green followed by 2 cans of clear (? another 4 coats), and also recoated the seats with 2 coats of Duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray. I scraped off the rust from the top frame and cleaned the rust of my white wheels, then coated all with a rust converter (Ospho) and then repsrayed those with Rustoleum metallic gray. Compared to before, the cart looks great, and if it gets scratched up, it can easily be repaired. Very easy to do and worth the effort. Some pics below.

Flat paint and black rims. Love the understated look.

The best thing about a rattle can paint job, is when you go out in the woods and you're playing and you get a scratch here and you get a scratch there, you just take your paint can spray a little here spray a little there, and your cart it looks like new again......
All of my carts have been rattle can.. Looks great... |

How well does the spray on the seat hold up? I have never heard of that.

Re: Amazing what a few rattle cans can do
That vinyl spray is actually pretty durable - it bonds directly to the vinyl, not just coats it. I have it on some boat seats for a few years now and also on a bra on the front of my 'vette to protect from small stones and road rash for over three years, and that has held up very well too. If it does wear it can easily be resprayed and becomes unnoticeable, it blends in very well. It's much cheaper and easier than replacing the seat coverings, unless they're torn or cut.
