Re: Basic tools for a newbie
For removing cables from the motor you will need a "thin head" wrench.
This is to hold the bottom nut where the cable attaches to the motor to keep the motor stud from turning as you remove or tighten the top nut. If you have some extra wrenches you could grind one down to be thin enough to slip in under the cable. Lubricants like PB blaster works well for rusted nuts and bolts. |

Re: Basic tools for a newbie
FluxCapacitor suggested this insulated wrench in this thread for battery cable nut tightening.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ies-fried.html Torque them to 100 in/lbs with a torque wrench after snugging them up with the wrench. Be careful around batteries and insulate tools to be safe. Oh a torque wrench should be on your list too. Low to medium inch pound range works well. |

Didn't see this on the list.
It's a Hydrometer, low cost for checking FLA battery cells to read it's specific gravity. http://support.rollsbattery.com/supp...ecific-gravity Easy to use and will show a bad cell right away. |

Re: Basic tools for a newbie
Is 15/16 the appropriate wrench size for the axle nut?
