2014 48 volt ezgo wont move
I have a 48 volt ezgo that will not move. It acts as if it is stuck in tow mode. No alarm when switch is in reverse, no solenoid click. 48 volts at input side of solenoid, 45 volts at output side. Help

Re: 2014 48 volt ezgo wont move
Some experts will chime in soon. But I just replaced a bad Curtis controller on mine. But I would start with checking the tow run switch. Then the key switch. Check for 48v at yellow wire on solenoid? If your not getting reverse buzzer you may not be getting power through your tow run switch or the controller is not working correctly.
Again the experts should chime in soon! |

Re: 2014 48 volt ezgo wont move
There is a small blue wire coming from the charge receptacle under the seat, plugs into a connector next to a battery, these tend to collect corrosion and the tab/clip breaks off causing this to disconnect often, and this being disconnected effectively shuts the cart down.

Cheked blue wire, no corrosion.

Also swapped the tow switch from another cart, no change. Even tried to by pass the switch with jumpers, no change. Will check yellow wire in am. Thanks for your replies.

Re: 2014 48 volt ezgo wont move
Just curious, what year are the batteries and how well do they load test? 48 even seems a tad low at the pack and 45 after the resistor on the solenoid is a bit low too. Should be closer to 49-50 at the battery side and 47 resistor/controller side. TXT 48s tend to shut down as if to protect themselves if the volts get too low, they slow to limp mode when approaching this level, and its called undervoltage cutback. when they shut down completely a handheld will show 'severe undervoltage'
Auto shut down can also be caused by a faulty controller or solenoid. a three-volt drop is a bit high. should be more like 1.5 volt drop on the controller side of the solenoid. |

I’m having the same problem, but I am getting the reverse tone but no click at the solenoid and it has been replaced.

This diagram shows the solenoid activation for the TXT48. Check to see there is (+) power at each red line shown between the battery and the solenoid when the key is on, cart in gear. The controller supplies the (-) when the pedal is depressed. That is when the solenoid clicks.

Re: 2014 48 volt ezgo wont move
re-checked voltage, 48.5 at battery side of solenoid, 45.5 at controller side. only 4 volts at yellow wire of solenoid with key on.
