Default Battery meter on constantly?

I bought an old 94 clubcar DS which is in pretty good shape and suits my needs for running around the retirement community. My question is it has a battery meter on the dash that works but it's on even when the key is off. Does the meter draw enough power to be concerned. I am guessing it must be wired wrong but can't seem to figure out how to correct. I am guessing it's has a very small draw on batteries but wanted to be sure.

It is more of a personal preference than the draw on the battery pack.

I personally have my only come ON when the Key is ON since it servers no purpose to me when I am not driving the cart.

Some folks say they like it ON all the time so they can walk by and look at it...

If I walk by my cart and I see the meter ON, I know the key is ON.

All You need to do is move the wire to the other terminal of the key switch.

Don't forget to put the cart in tow, if equipped, and remove the main negative and positive cables from the battery bank.

Just a thought before you tear into the dash. Check your battery pack to make sure the meter is not directly connected to battery pack.
