Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
On my 2014 rxv solenoid looking at it the way its bolted on, 2 small connections on top and bottom, 2 large connections on left and right, everything is on the front facing out. Left large stud swivels with the wire. The connections tight but it seems like the stud has broken loose from whatever may be holding it in the back of the solenoid. My carts not here I just thought it while I was getting the differential stuff together to take back with me. The carts been running fine until recently when I think I got something wet. Just wondering if anyone else has seen or knows about that connection swiveling.

Re: Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
If it swivels it's bad. Replace the solenoid. It's broken loose inside the body of the solenoid. It may touch enough to transmit power - sometimes - but other times not. It's about guaranteed to create enough resistance to melt something.

Re: Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
My cart is a 2014 48 volt ezgo rxv. I keep finding 36 volt solenoids under that in the stores. Amid missing something?

That includes controllers 1206AC-5201, 1206AC-5202, 1206AC-5203, and 1206AC-5350. The controllers post mid-2014 had a main coil (solenoid) PWM value of 100% (48 VDC). That includes controllers 1206AC-5211, 1206AC-5212, 1206AC-5213, and 1206AC-5360. Make sure you buy the right solenoid for you controller. If it takes a 48v solenoid and you can't find one get back with me I have several of them. |

Re: Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
Also, don't forget you need a continuous rated duty Solenoid.

Re: Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
Lol yeah I have a solenoid that came outta my old ford diesel truck I thought was bad but its actually working fine. So the cheapo in me was thinking hmmm they look identical I'll take this one up and swap em and see if it clears up the not running issue. I looked it up and it not rated continuous duty. So back on the shelf it goes.

Re: Ezgo rxv solenoid screw question
Finally got back up here. Got the differential oil put in with the additive. I pumped it in the axle breather hole with a little hand pump I ordered for like 5 bucks. Made it really easy. Anyway took pics of my solenoid I have a 36 volt not a 48 so that's good. It seems like the 36 volt ones are cheaper by about 20 bucks so I'm getting one ordered and will install it next time. I did drive the cart, its driving like a brand new one no problems other than still kinda getting a whining noise from the rear or the motor.
