Default Is it work getting 205ah batteries?

I currently have a brand new set of 150 Crowns in SWMBO's '14 and they work fine. Short term plans are for an Alltrax 500, and slightly longer term plans are for an Executioner motor and a lift with 22" tires. I figure that will suck down those 150s in a minute. Local dealer has US Battery 170s for $135 and can get me 205s for $158. I have a roller cart here that I'm putting together that I can drop the Crowns in, so I do need to get another set of batteries either way.

My common sense (or lack thereof) says the 205s are worth the extra coin. What says the hive?

That is $138 so its more so how you plan to use it. If you will be on it a lot on long trips or durations, it is worth it. If you are just riding around the hood, save the money as the 170's are going to carry you everywhere you want to go...

For the most part, we cruise the neighborhood. We are seriously thinking about streeting it, but the restaurants/playgrounds/stores are about a mile away in any direction. My concern was driving at 30mph for two or three miles at a time. I'm planning on that Executioner you recommended, and I have zero clue as to the resulting drain.

You would be fine with the 170's, but the 205's will obviously give you more AH duration, but again, if not needed, then I would put that towards another need.

Are those prices without returning your batts for a core, because they make about $20-30 per battery!

That's with core exchange. That does present a slight issue too, I only have two core golf cart batteries, one marine battery, then a few automotive batteries. Some places take the automotive cores, some don't.

My experience is the greater the amp hour capacity the longer the batteries last. I can't give scientific evidence of this phenomenon but I can tell that it is my experience based a decade of owning a 10 cart research fleet and previously doing much service work like (selling and installing wet cell battery packs). Larger capacity batteries just live longer in golf carts. IMHO
I always buy the bigger stuff, even when there are 10 carts to do.
