Question EZGO Shuttle 6 (Curtis 1264) Issue Help

Hi all!

I have a 2011 EZGO Shuttle 6 with a Curtis 1264 controller in it. I’m not getting any solenoid click and after seeing no status light on the controller to indicate a fault.

I verified Run/Tow switch continuity and started going through the pins via the service diagram. I am missing pack voltage on both side of the key switch (Pins 1 and 12) even though I have pack voltage provided to the controller at pins 2,3, and 4.

Does anyone have any ideas of other avenues before I replace/rebuild the controller? I have troubleshot several carts before, but am not familiar with the 1264 controller any anything I may be missing.

Just a guess, but the solenoid activation logic for 1264 might be the same as it is for a 1206MX (36V PDS).

If so, the pack voltage has to go through the F/R switch before it goes to the keyswitch.

Drawing of the solenoid voltage paths through a 1206MX controller attached.

I thought the same thing but am getting 0V on the supply pin for F/R as well.

I thought the same thing, but am also getting 0V on the source pin for the F/R.

Sounds like a bad PC Board run, or bad connection(s) between 24 pin plug & jack.

FWIW:

If the controller is bad, Alltrax does have an XCT replacement for it.

From what I understand, a different adapter cable is used for a 1264 and a 1268.

Thank you for your help! Although not good news, good to have confirmation before taking the next step.

Might be able to check the voltage paths through the controller with an Ohmmeter.

Disconnect the battery pack and short between the controller's B- and B+ terminals with a 100Ω or so resistor to discharge the filter capacitors. The measure from J1 Pin-2 (Logic voltage B+ from Run/Tow switch to controller) with the keyswitch on and F selected on F/R. Should get continuity to Pins 7, 10, 1 and 12. also on either Pin 6 or 8, or both when pedal is pressed.
