99 club car ds yellow wire
I have a 99 club car ds regen. I have been baffled. Cart won’t run. The solenoid clicks when you step on the peddle. I’m getting power everywhere. I stuck a prob test light from battery ground to the yellow wire that comes from obc to the controller. When you stick the prob in yellow wire then the cart runs. I put new controller and new obc in and nothing changed.

Re: 99 club car ds yellow wire
Yellow wire from the solenoid is negative side for the coil. It controls the charge lockout function to disable the cart when the charger is plugged in. If you replaced the OBC and it still doesn’t work there’s a bad connection or break in the wire between the solenoid and the OBC. You can jumper the yellow wire to B- and the cart will run fine. The charger lockout will not function so the cart can drive even when the charger is plugged in.

The yellow wire goes from the obc to the controller. The solenoid activates just fine. When I prob the yellow wire that runs from obc to controller then it runs

Re: 99 club car ds yellow wire
Oh, sorry. I was thinking series cart.
On a Regen 2 cart, the Yellow and green are some kind of signal wiring between the OBC and controller. I don't remember exactly what they're supposed to do, but they will keep the controller from working. I would guess you have a bad connection, or the OBC is confused and telling the controller not to operate. When you probe that wire does your test light illuminate? Jumping that to battery - suggests either OBC or controller is providing voltage on that pin and that is telling the controller to not allow the cart to operate. Which charger do you have? Have you plugged it into the cart? There is a charger lockout that should prevent the cart from moving with the charger plugged in. Conversely if the charger has Not been plugged in for a long period of time, the OBC may lockout the controller to prevent it from being driven without being charged, but I'm not 100% sure if a cart that old would have that function. |

Replace the Yellow wire or at least re-terminate it for a better connection to the controller. |
