92 marathon intermittent reverse
I have a 92 marathon that I recently completed the upgrade to 48v. Am running FSIP 500a controller, HD solenoid, HD F/R. I also just added a voltage reducer to power my running lights, light bar, and 12v ACC plug. All running great but lately when switched in reverse the cart would not respond to accelerator at first and then jump into motion. This only happened sometimes. Went for a ride yesterday and switched in reverse (after running for a bit) and nothing. Switched key off and then back on and it reversed fine (no jump). Rode it a few more times throughout the day and had to go through the same routine to get it to go in reverse. I’m stumped. Any thoughts as to what to check first is appreciated.

Re: 92 marathon intermittent reverse
Does the solenoid click when cart fails to run?
If not, the problem is in the solenoid activation circuit. If it does, the problem is in the high amps circuit. If it has a 0-5k type throttle, the pot might be dirty or skipping. |

Re: 92 marathon intermittent reverse
Yes, solenoid clicks. It does have that type of throttle. I’ll take a good look at the pot. Thank you!
