Club Car not charging, batteries at 41 volts, yellow light solid
We purchased a custom club car in December. Everything was run fine until recently. We noticed the ERIC charger was not charging and displayed the red triangle indicating a charging fault. We borrowed a neighbors ERIC charger and got the same reading. When I ran the cart for a short time the yellow battery light on the cart is a solid yellow. I tested the batteries and they are all at 7 volts with a total read of 42 volts.
We aren't sure what to do to get the charger working. Any help is much appreciated. |

Re: Club Car not charging, batteries at 41 volts, yellow light solid
Welcome to the forum!
Your batteries are dangerously undercharged. That will shorten their life expectancy. It could be why the charger will not start. Or it could be the charger interlock circuit is not allowing the charger to start. (A possibility: There are three wires going to the charger receptacle in the cart, a large red wire, a large black wire, and a smaller light blue wire. Trace that blue wire back to see if a bullet connector came apart.) Someone else may continue here who knows a lot more about the newer carts than I do. |

Re: Club Car not charging, batteries at 41 volts, yellow light solid
The ERIC charger doesn’t care about if the interlock works or not.
It needs pack voltage on the RED wire that goes to the charge receptacle on the cart. The RED should be connected to the Pack main Positive battery post. And the BLACK wire from the receptacle should go to the Pack main Negative post, or the B- terminal on the controller. Make sure both are connected properly and are free of corrosion or damage. If you have a digital meter check to make sure there is full pack voltage at the Red and Black wire pins on the charge receptacle. Make sure the wires at the receptacle are not corroded or damaged. If the wires on the receptacle are damaged the receptacle has to be replaced. |
