Default 2001 Replacement Engine w/ starter/generator

Need a replacement engine for a 2001 295cc engine that uses the starter/generator with the gas pedal. Other than a re-manufacutured EZGO engine I haven't seen any other options. Cart used exlusively on golf course. Thanks

Used is an option, but good luck finding one in good condition for a resonable price. If this is a cart you plan to keep, buy a remanufactured one with a warranty. I have done business with a place called Motors and More in Appling, GA, good experience and the engine runs like new. Mine cost me $700 plus $80 shipping both ways, and an extra $300 because I needed a crank. You will need a complete rebuildable core to send to them.

Rebuilding yourself is an option if you have the skillset. You can expect to spend around $300 for the basic rebuild kit, more if you need connecting rods or a crankshaft. It's not for a beginner, however.

Skillset and patience both slim. Just wasn't sure if there were any clone options that offered the "pedal" start. Remanufactured it is. thanks for info

There are clones that offer the pedal start. Vegas carts has lots of options and you can use their engine or one of many predator or other 420 clone engines.

However, if being used on a golf course I’d have the stock motor rebuilt. The clones tend to be quite a bit louder than a stock engine and golf courses may have issue with that.
