the little wire runs through the wiring sleeve and is cut. there is a jumper running to the positive battery terminal.
Looks at the diagram again, im not sure where it is supposed to go.

Apparently the reed switch (high failure item) in the charger port has been bypassed. The jumper to the main positive terminal ought to be feeding B+ to J1 Pin-4. Find out why it isn't.

OK I found it. now the backup alarm works.
while in fwd. I have voltage on all pin in J1 except for pin 2

J1 Pin-2 should have voltage when in Reverse.

However I still have no click and thus no go.

I have replaced the microswitch and the round thingy that the rod goes into.
It had obvious water damage and I can't tell how to remove the rod.

What is the best way to test this?

I finally got back to the garage.
This is what I get but it says to goto 44 but I dont know what that is.

pin 4 = 14.8v
pin 3 = .9v

The 0.9V with pedal pushed just far enough to make solenoid click is within the 1.0V +/- 0.3V spec, so you should be going to step 43 rather than 44.

Hint: Step 43 is looking for 2.9V +/- 0.4V at J4 Pin-3 with pedal on floor.
