Default 12 v step down wiring

Hi, I have Allied Lithium 12 v step down converter with 12v output wired as follows. It works but just wanted to confirm that this is best practice ? I disconnected the yellow bullet connector on the black wire to connect it to the converters 12v output, and I’m wondering about the portion of the black wire that is no longer connected to anything (green arrow)

Also what are the following three unconnected wires for, it looks like they are going to the dashboard ?

Thanks

Also I would like to add a 12v fuse panel behind the dashboard for additional accessories like usb phone charger. My cart has head and tail lights, so there is already 12 v wiring harness in there. Is there a switched 12v wire somewhere in there that I could tap into, so that accessories connected to new 12v fuse panel would turn off when ignition key is turned off ?

I am seeing unused black (ending covered in electric tape), blue, green, red and orange connectors behind the dash as per attached photo. Red and orange look like the unconnected wires from the battery compartment I mentioned previously. Wondering if the others could be used to power the 12 v fuse block ? A bit surprised to see unconnected blue wire since the headlights are working.
