the cylinder has a opening ( sort of a vent ) on one the side about 2/3 of the way down that goes to an opening in the jug. The manual does tell you to make sure to put it in the right way.

The jug is the cylinder. Different names for the same part. I think you’re talking about the port in the piston.

If it didn’t wreck the jug/cylinder consider yourself lucky. 99% of the time the cylinder walls are trashed from a backwards piston.

That is what killed my Harley piston was in backwards had to put a motor in it the middle ring caught in the exhaust port and destroyed the jug and piston and no I didn’t put the piston in wrong it was some one else
