Default Question about motor kw

I have a 3 kw motor. Does this translate to the horsepower of the motor?

Is 3kw good, bad or about average?

Is there some kind of formula that can tell me the rpms of my motor based on the kw?

Default Re: Question about motor kw

1 kW = 1.341 HP
3kw = 4.03 hp which is slightly above average for stock modern day carts.

So I am assuming since it is called horsePOWER and not horseSPEED there is no connection to higher horsePOWER and higher overall top speed....

I have 6 seater 36 volts going 11mph sometimes 12 if I'm lucky...lot of low end torque though....I want to trade a little torque for maybe 4mph of top speed...I will be going to dealership Saturday to have mechanic program the curtis controller that is in there to top speed setting and go from there....anything else I can check/optimize to make a difference in top speed? Batteries are reading 37.5 fully charged and I haven't done a load test yet on them....not sure what is optimal and what isn't when it comes to SPEED from batteries....how to confirm I have a weak battery causing low overall speed....not sure about specs....(5 volt drop is ok 7 volt drop is bad etc....)
