So I tore the drive clutch apart and found one of the weights broken. I replaced that, got it back together. I also picked up a new engine tensioner and replaced the rear engine mounts. I set the tensioner, as mike mentioned, so the rear mounts are a 'relaxed' state. Now the belt isn't real tight like it was before, but its not loose either. I know Sho mentioned he ran his cart with GPS, adjusting his tentioner until he hit max speed. I may play with it some more, but for now, I hit 25.7 MPH on GPS! YES!!

Its amazing, because now, the cart will go downhill at a good speed, where before it would crawl down the mountain. (25.7 was on the flat part, by the way!)

I would say, mechaniclly, its not going to get any faster! The only thing left to do now is to order that torqe spring from Tom at CPP.

I've re-welded several new pieces of steel to replace rusted or missing sections throughout the cart. Primed and painted them too. I am clueless as to why both rear wheel wells were missing, but it contributed to the rust, as there was nothing back there to stop mud from being flung everywhere. Now to the fun part. Body repair and prep for paint. My buddy and I will be building two rear seats (from mike's plans) this saturday. I'll try to get pics!

Fantastic! Glad to hear it! Now you can just look for the wheel tubs and the little stuff as you go. But keep on with the maintenance, like grease in the steering gear, change oil in the rear end, check front wheel alinement etc. Just read about it, set up for it and do it when there is a lull in body work. I would try to do as much maint. as you can before the body goes back on. Take a good look at wiring, and electrical connections, make sure all are solid and secure. Much easier now than with the body on.

And lift off throttle alittle when going down hills. Don't want to over rev. motor.

I knew you'd get it!! Mike

Oh, buy the way, I drove mine over 35 miles yesterday!

35 miles? Dang! Did you drive it to the golf course and back? Maybe two golf courses? Yea, I am happy with the speed. I still need to back the gas pedal off by one spline, like you suggested. It's real jumpy and touchy. It's funny you mention 'while the body is off'! I've put on the body and the top and took it back off three times now!! I am real good at getting it off! I picked up $220.00 worth of painting material today....uggg...called the wife right before I bought it and said, 'is this ok honey?'!!!

Ya Jim, that paint is expensive! What did you end up getting? Did you go the camo?

And did you get the front clip to fit right? I saw a picture where you replaced that angle on the front.

Here we go again, but it was to cold to paint, (third day now) and I had alot of time, so being street legal, I drove it to get the last of the hardware for this kitchen I'm doing. I'm usuing those $21.00 blum under mount drawer slides. New challenge for me, never used them before. Man I really like them. lotta fun!

Hope your seat goes good tomorrow, Mike
