Default Yamaha G2 G9 engine/motor overheating??

Hi,

I own a G9, It works great but after 10minutes of riding the exhaust gets loud, The engine is missing the shrouds/covers, Maybe the engine is getting hot?? Do I really need the covers for the engine? I heard that they force air toward the engine head to keep it cool.

Thanks

You may have a clogged muffler. But, if it is just an engine overheating, try (with the engine cold), spraying out the vented area under the shrouds somewhat behind the engine (they wrap around the engine and can get clogged).

sho305: That's what I was thinking, Good thing the silencer got loose and I stopped riding the cart, I'm trying buy the shrouds from another member, For now I installed a 12v fan, Drilled few 1" holes under the F/R lever also installed an air vent under the rear seat. Thanks
