Re: G8 motor mounts - how to change?
Jim, I just noticed, on your windshield support,(front hoop support), that piece of 1" angle has been cut out. You need to put that piece back in there to the other side. My front hoop wobbled all over the place (off road). I was concerned it would break off, so thats why I reinforced it to 4 bolts and the extra bracing in that area. Very solid now, I can pull the car by it now,( I don't, put I could).

Re: G8 motor mounts - how to change?
yea, they cut it out to shove that old radio in that spot. Your right, I need to fix that. It may explain why the front clip doesn't sit square with the front bumper.
I got the motor mounts switched out. It was another easy job. Using a ratchet strap works great to lift the motor while you work on the mounts. The two that were on there were no longer connected. |

Re: G8 motor mounts - how to change?
Yea, thats what I thought when I saw it, but think about reinforcing that whole mount. Mine was 100% and it still moved all over the place with any aggressive riding.
Good deal on the motor mounts. You're gonna get it right, and be happy very soon. |
