Default Comet clutch install ?

What is it that holds the inner clutch hub (engine side) from spinning freely on the crankshaft ? There is no keyway or anything to hold it. Is it just simply the pressure of the spring and outer assembly or what ? Thanks in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
