Converting seat to match roof problem
Hello,
I have an older 1982 cart where the top was kind of shot on it and the seat back support bars have about 3 inches broken off into where it screws into the frame, so I found a deal on a newer one for $25. I have still been trying to get those little pieces out. The guy, I guess had broken the seat back bars before and welded them back together and the weld broke and they have been stuck.the new roof came with the 2 back support bars that kind of look hook looking. It looks to be around a 2007 roof with the handles on the back end of roof. My problem is that it won't connect right to where the back of the seat back is. Mine has the 2 seperate seat backs. I'm guessing I'll have to get the solid seat back and different mounts. I Imagine it's going to be kind of difficult getting the stuff just right. I could just get the newer 2007 seat back with mounts and drill the mounts into the frame, and then attach the back roof supports to the mounts, right. I have been looking all over trying to find the cheaper way to do this. I'll try to post pics tomorrow of what I have been trying to do. thank you for any help... |

Re: Converting seat to match roof problem
My cart used to have 2 seat backs. I prefered a single long one. I also re-arranged the back roof supports. The cushion was easy to make. Cut the plywood to what you want. Go to your local craft / fabric store and get the foam and marine vinyl. I used aluminum 1" angle to run laterally behind the seat-back and bolt to the roof supports. Easy custom work. A cart this age is gonna require some custom fab work.
