Battery Voltage and charging cycle
I have a 05 DSIQ cart with 4 12 volt batteries. It was charging fine a couple of weeks ago. I have since traveled with the cart (about 300 miles) and since then it seems to be having charging issues.
The charger comes on but gets a bit hotter than normal, not enough for me to worry as it does cool down as it charges. I let it run the 16 hour cycle and it shut off, I plugged in at 2pm ish and it was around 10-15 on the meter, at 10pm it was hovering at 5 (it seems to like that number). At 6:30 am it was off. I checked each battery they read 15.3 and rising as I let the meter sit on the terminals, got to about 15.5. Across the pack I had 59 ish, give or take. I plugged the charger back in to check voltage while on charge....70 volts...yikes! I don't have a hydrometer to test each cell....will be getting one today. Does this sound like a bad battery??? I am ruling out the OBC as it turned off within the 16 hour cycle, at least it appears to have done that. Thanks for your help! Kris |
