Default Rubber molding

oK, I have a 88 EZGO and on Wed the rubber molding I order will be here and I would like some input to installing, I seen on the web site I order it from said to put it in hot water. Is this a good way it put the molding on?

I used a heat gun, it went right on and also smoothed out the corners.

Make sure all the little dents and dings are pulled out of the metal edge and spray the rubber bumper groove with wd40 to assist in sliding it on.
