95 cc 48v series wont go
I am new to golf carts. I have a 1995 club car serial number A9544. It's a 48v series from as far as I can tell. I started to have trouble about a week ago, I went to get on and go and nothing happened, no click from the solenoid. I check all the wire connections and cleaned them all but still nothing. Let it sit over nite and in the morning it was working fine again however later in the afternoon it did the same thing again, just stop going when I was in full speed and wouldn't start again. The batteries are less then a year old. I checked all of them and they are holding at 8.3 to 8.5 volts and collectively they are at 50.4 volts. I looked up on some other threads here about similar problems and through that advice, deduced it was a bad solenoid, so I installed a new one and it worked fine until this morning. I went to get on and go and nothing again. I am getting a precharge because when I press the go it does jump a little, and when I jumped the two large posts on the terminal and pressed go the solenoid clicked and the wheels started turning. I'm at a loss what to do or check next. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. I also have no access to manuals and very limited on tools. Thanks for any help.

Re: 95 cc 48v series wont go
No, when it stopped the solenoid wasn't clicking anymore. Yes the charger is working. It was a round style with two small posts and two large posts for a 48v system. Yes it does have both the small post diode and the large post resistor. I have since then tried the old school method of tapping the solenoid and it seems to have freed up the contact so it is going again. Is it common for solenoids to stick or could it be an over amp/volt problem that could be causing it to stick. I reinstalled both diode and resistor the exact same way as before and reconnected all the wires in the same locations also when I installed the new solenoid.

Re: 95 cc 48v series wont go
was it a new solenoid you put on? keep in mind even new can be bad we see it all the time............yoy might also think about changing the resistor and diode and check the small wires going to solenoid make sure they are good...........it wouldn,t hurt to also check batteries under load make sure you don,t have one dropping out..............................
