80's Marathon Posi Traction
Does any one have a link or knowledge on deferential part's - clutches or spool's for the DANA Spicer rear end that's in my 83 marathon? It would be nice to have limited slip, but a spool could work. It's heading to northern Mi. in the spring to stay and I just know I'll want more traction. I really don't want to just gag weld the spiders up and think it's the "good" way to do it .. I know some have had good results doing that.. If you have experience with that method please share it!!

Re: 80's Marathon Posi Traction
When we used to weld up differentials in Mud-Trucks and Stock-Cars,we took chunks of 1/4" bolts and wedged them between the spider-gears and side-gears before welding. You should you Nickel-Rod if using a stick-welder,I've seen alot of them done with a Mig,just make sure the heat is up,for good penetration(I wouldn't attempt it with less than a 175amp ,220volt machine).
