Re: Axle and Tie rod removal for lift kit install
Hello, guys
I do have the same problem. I was pulling out my hair and yes now i'm bold. Anyway, I found that tie rods are always have one side reversed thread to make both side short and elongate possible. So if you have a normal rule of thumb thread on one side. Another one will have a revered thread !! . Don't pull your hair... a wig is not cheap. Cheers!!! |

Re: Axle and Tie rod removal for lift kit install
If I am thinking of the right thing, you are talking about the tie rod end not the tie rod itself. This should be tight on a taper but have a habit of turning when undoing the nut. If you can tighten the nut by tapping the tie rod into place with a hammer. Then do the nut real tight, this will lock the taper in place. Then hopefully you can wind the nut off. Before you get the nut fully off. Tap it with the hammer to pop the taper back out. Or remove the nut completely and use a soft plastic hammer on the tie rod so as not to damage the thread.
