Battery Health
I have been trying to charge my batteries for a week now and I just took readings immediately after I took them off the charger.
Each battery was 6.4 - 6.5 and the total was 39.5. This seems higher than the 100% chart. When should I be testing them? |

Re: Battery Health
Let them rest for about 12hours after charged.... at least that's what the guru's say here and they haven't steered me wrong yet

Re: Battery Health
Ok. Let them sit overnight.
Each battery measured 6.2 - 6.3 volts and the total measured 37.9 volts which doesn't make sense. Each battery is 70% from the chart but the total is in the 90% range. What does this mean? |

Re: Battery Health
If you're using a DVM, try setting your meter to a lower scale (something like 20 V.). That will allow your individual battery measurements to be to two (2) decimal places (example - 6.31 volts). That should make the sum of your individual readings come closer to the total pack reading. - RAY

Re: Battery Health
Your readings are disappointingly low. SOC readings are taken 12-24hours after the charge. The charge should take the pack up to 44-46v (36v) or 58-63v (48v) then the pack settles and you see how much of that the batteries can hold after 12-24hours of just sitting. This will give you a sense of what percentage they are good for.

Re: Battery Health
Batteries are 6 years old so I know they have problems. Just want to know how bad they really are.
