98 txt dcs no go
I have a 98 txt dcs that will not move. When I put the cart in forward or reverse the solenoid clicks without stepping on the pedal and you get battery reference voltage on the controller side of the solenoid with no cart movement. I checked the micro switch in the pedal box and it is operational.
Since most tests say to activate the pedal to hear solenoid click, am I correct in assuming this is a problem. If so what is the most likely cause of this issue. Thanks in advance |

Re: 98 txt dcs no go
The solenoid shouldn't click before the pedal is pushed unless you have and aftermarket controller (Alltrax) and then it may sometimes.
Problem could be a bad Pedal switch or a bad controller and might be more than one problem. |

Re: 98 txt dcs no go
Thanks for the reply, it is the original controller. I did check the micro switch in the pedal box and it was operating properly. Also, when I was doing my controller check the reading changed as it was supposed to as I applied the pedal so I think it is also a bad controller that is applying ground to pin 5 at all times instead of only when the pedal micro switch is activated. Now I am wondering if I should replace the stock controller with an altrax dcx500 or just the stock Curtis1206.

A DCX controller of any ampacity is nice in a DCS cart. Scottyb has a pretty good overview on upgrading on his website: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html |
