Rear suspension
I am rebuilding a 99 TXT, and installed 6" lift kit. I didn't change the shocks but did add heavy duty springs, as I am putting a rear seat kit on. I noticed that the rear is extremely stiff without any "cushion". Is this common, or do I have an issue with the shocks now. I knew that the new leaf springs would tighten things up but not to the point of being solid. Any advise.

They are really stiff. I have kinda gotten used to mine. You could try and remove a leaf or two and see how it feels.

Shocks are for dampening. Meaning they should be hard to open and hard to close. Remove the lower mount of your shock and open and close them. If it's equal pressure up and down shocks are ok. With a single rider you will definitely have a stiff ride with hd springs. Add the seat kit and some riders and you will appreciate the hd springs.
