Default batteries dead

have 6 6 volt duracell gc2 batteries. about 2 years old. let sit for about 6 months and they are all reading no voltage. charging 2 at a time with a 12 volt charger to get up high enough to use 36 volt charger. can you replace the acid in each battery to maybe help with adding some life. Did not hardly use the cart and it seems like the batteries did not last long at all.

No. You are going about the right way trying to bring them back to life but if they don't charge back up you going to need to replace them. You don't need to take them out of the cart or disconnect them to charge them with a 12 volt charger. Just observe polarity and connect charger across two in series at a time.

if you do not maintain batteries once a month they will not last. they need to be charged in the water checked.

If you go off and leave Batteries for 6 months with no maintenance, this will happen, you have to take care of them if you want them to last 5 or 6 years

None of them will last very long if not maintained properly. Storage in a discharged state is sure death for any lead acid battery.

You need a DPI charger to keep your batteries in top shape during storage
Keep plugged in all the time -- a good brand is either Trojan or Crown
Also check water levels , this is why your 2 year old batts did not last long

Concur with the DPI. You'll pay a little more, but compared with buying a new set of batts every two years...

DPI has a float mode to maintain batteries between charges.
