Yes, I got it. Starting to wonder if I paid to much! She's real rough. Hour meter is 2900. May just junk it out. Have to look closer when I get a chance.

Re: What to look for in a CL gasser
So far all I have had time to do is connect a battery and get the motor to spin, there is nice healthy spark but the fuel is likely very old. I'll pull and clean the carb and get new gas. We'll see if it fires up. I was kind of surprised that I was able to get this far in the few minutes I had. Suspension and steering are sloppy, tires are bald.

Re: What to look for in a CL gasser
Ok, I got the motor to run and took it around the block. Often when pressing the peddle down the engine takes 30 seconds to spool up enough energy to move forward. Feels like the brakes are dragging or something is holding it back.
How do you test the clutch? |

Yeah you got a great deal, and if you like playing with stuff like this, you're going to have a great time getting her fixed up!

Re: What to look for in a CL gasser
OK, I guess I'm going to tinker a bit before I decide on the fate of this cart. Since the spark is nice and she runs with a good prime I ordered a new carb. I also noticed that the driven clutch cam is missing one of three lobes so that will need to be replaced, I am hoping that is what was giving it the feeling something was dragging.
Any advice is appreciated. |

Ok, pics to come. Not much to see at the moment. Did install new carb and she is definitely running now.
