Default Txt hub or axle stripped

My kids were on my txt and when they stopped in front of my house and tried to go again it made a stripped sound. You can see the right rear axle spin on the outside of the outer rim in the center. Well it atleast looks like the hub is spinning. Do I just need a new hub or new axle or what?

Classic stripped hub. Usually caused by shifting into forward while rolling backwards unless the cart is impressively overpowered.

Replace with upgrade part Ausco # 2127

Best way to pop a wheelie. Run backwards really fast then switch to forward and punch it.

My best bet. You did say they were kids?

Lol Yes it was my kids. The guy gave me an extra hub with it so I will be replacing it tonight. How tight do they go? The old one was real loose like a wheel bearing on a trailer.

That was WRONG! The kids may be exonerated .... use a breaker bar to tighten see install sheet below. OEM castle nut is 90-140 ft pounds tight.

We have a txt and we replaced the hubs about a month ago and now it quit moving. Took off wheels and hubs and the axel spline is actually stripped not the hub. Now what?? And what may have caused it? The guy we bought it from not quite a year ago said he replaced the hubs about a year or so before that.

It sounds to me like one of two things are happening.
A. the axle nut is not being torqued down properly.
B. somebody is abusing the cart like they stole it.

Most likely cause is A. The axle nut torque is 100 ft. pounds.
