Default 12 V Reducer Accessories Not Working / Troubleshooting Help

Hello -

Last night all of my 12V accessories stopped working (lights, radio, etc...). Using my voltmeter, it seems like it is generating power to the accessories.

The fuse also seems to be intact.

I drove on a bumpy road that may have caused exceeding rattling to the 12v reducer, but I figure if it was damaged it wouldn't produce power.

Is anyone willing to assist in troubleshooting or offer any advise on how best to address this issue?

Thank you!

If your output wires show 12v I don't see the problem. It's down stream of that then. Have a bad connection? Do uou have a buss bar for power? Check for a tight conception there. Take a light bulb or radio and hook it to where your volt meter says 12v..it has to work?

try the 12v accessory to a good 12v battery .. if it is good then replace 12v converter
if not then it is the wiring

All -

I STILL have not got this issue figured out. I am trying to discover where the issue lies "downstream". My voltage reducer has 4 lines coming out it (green, red, black, and yellow). Green = power from reducer to fuse box
Red = + that runs to main batt +
Black = - that runs to main batt -
Yellow = switched + that runs to batt meter/ key switch

Here are some volt meter readings which leave me more perplexed:

- Getting 36v at main + and -
- getting 36v back to + and - at the reducer
- getting power (green wire) running from reducer to fuse box
- getting 12v coming out of yellow wire on reducer

My 12v accessories include, Bluetooth amp, lights, horn, etc..

I really don't understand how the accessories seem to be getting power but NONE of them work.

Also, I ordered a new battery reducer with no luck on fixing the problem.

Does anyone have any thoughts or idea on how I can determine where the issue lies??

Thank you in advance!

try disconnecting all of them
then add each one to see if there is a problem
then add them together (one at a time) til you find the problem

If you are checking the voltage with a DVM, you could be seeing phantom voltage. It is voltage present with no current carrying capability. When a load is applied this voltage should go away. Test using a test light or a known good headlight.
